Although it may not be considered the fashion capital of Canada, Winnipeg proved it has more than enough homegrown talent at last weekend’s Shopology Project Conference.
Not heard of the Shopology Project? The initiative aims to shine a light on Winnipeg fashion and showcase local designers, stylists, photographers and boutiques, giving them a platform to be seen and heard. The event brings together an established community of like-minded individuals with a passion for all things fashion, providing insight on how to build a business, create partnerships and grow a brand from scratch.
There are dozens of up and coming designers here in Manitoba: new talent is constantly emerging from the city’s design schools and even Nygard started from humble beginnings right here in Winnipeg! The Shopology Project recently posted about Nygard and the history of the brand on their website, and you can read the full article here.
What was our favourite moment? Aside from the amazing speeches and presentations given by some of Winnipeg’s most prominent fashion figures, we spotted a stylish guest wearing one of our most recent designs and snapped a pic of our velvet bomber jacket out and about!
